President Robert Bogin and Vice President Graham Powell visited Stripey Stork in November to present them with a cheque for £165 (raised from donations), some Usborne Illustrated Dictionaries and some Steiff Reindeer. They were very busy packing up gift parcels.
STRIPEY STORK
We collect donations of toys, clothes and other items for babies and children essentials and, after checking they meet current UK safety standards, rehome them with families in Surrey experiencing hardship.
We do not accept direct referrals and instead receive requests from local professionals (health visitors, social workers, children’s centres, women’s shelters etc) on behalf of families in need in Surrey.
We then try and meet the request from the items we have in stock or by putting a call out to our supporters via our Facebook and Twitter page .
Stripey Stork prides itself on passing on items in great condition. We want the families who receive items from us to feel they are receiving a gift and not a handout.
